About Me
Hello! I am Andrew T. Pipo, and I recently graduated from the University of Cincinnati's College of Engineering and Applied Science with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a minor in Information Technology, and a certificate in Software Engineering.
I have a solid background in both the technology and customer-service fields. Over the past few years, I have earned ten certifications, including Microsoft Office Specialist Master for Microsoft Office 2016 and Adobe Certified Professional in Visual Design. I have developed proficiency in a variety of programming languages and technologies, including Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, Java, C, C++, C#, Kotlin, MATLAB, LabVIEW, SQL, and various modern frameworks like Svelte, React, Bootstrap, and .NET.
I have gained customer service experience while working in a call center for a third-party administrator for insurance companies, where I assisted clients with filing claims and dispatching mitigation contractors. I also worked as a Retail Sales Associate at Staples in Huber Heights, Ohio, handling cashier duties, stocking, and assisting customers.
I completed three years at ATech Training in Walton, KY, as an Embedded Software Developer, where I specialized in developing desktop applications with C# .NET WinForms, Android applications, web-based solutions, graphical user interfaces, embedded systems programming with microcontrollers (Arduino, STM32, Microchip AVR), and hardware-software integration. I gained extensive experience with manufacturing software, automation tools, and real-time systems development.
Additionally, I served as a Lead Peer-Teaching Assistant for the first-year Engineering Design Thinking I & II courses (ENED1100 and ENED1120) at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash, where I oversaw curriculum and logistics while leading a team of teaching assistants. During this role, I developed an automated team assignment application for demo stations, showcasing my ability to create practical solutions for educational environments.
My recent projects include developing a SQLite Database Management Tool, an Ethernet Communication Testing application, multiple UI/UX projects using Svelte, and data visualization projects utilizing D3.js and Vega-Lite. I am passionate about user interface design, embedded systems development, and creating efficient software solutions.
Outside of my professional pursuits, I have volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, Cincinnati Parks, and OneSource in Cincinnati, engaging in activities like manual labor, event assistance, and supporting nonprofit organizations.
